Product formulation
Recipes built around local grain, then tested for taste, shelf life and cost per serving before anyone tools up.
- Millet flour blends
- Ready-to-cook mixes
- Infant & toddler foods
I formulate, test and label food using the grains Tamil Nadu already eats — kambu, thinai, ragi, samai, varagu. No imported superfood, no guesswork on the pack.

What I do
Through SAMRATHA I work with mills, FPOs, mid-day meal kitchens and small food brands across western Tamil Nadu — from the first recipe trial to the printed nutrition panel.
Recipes built around local grain, then tested for taste, shelf life and cost per serving before anyone tools up.
Proximate analysis through NABL-accredited partners, turned into an FSSAI-compliant panel you can defend.
Anaemia and growth-tracking camps run with anganwadis and schools, measured against a baseline, not a feeling.
One-to-one plans in Tamil or English, built from what's already in your kitchen and your weekly market.
The grain shelf
Each one is grown within a few hundred kilometres of my Salem kitchen. Pick one to see what it actually brings to a meal.
Plan a day
A quick reference for the four nutrients Indian diets most often fall short on. Choose who you're cooking for.
Suggested daily intake
General guidance based on ICMR-NIN reference ranges. Not a substitute for advice from your doctor or a registered dietitian — bring it to your next consultation.

Leadership
“A nutrition label should read like a promise you can keep. That is the whole business.”
I founded SAMRATHA in Salem in 2022, after years of community nutrition work across the Kongu belt, where I kept meeting the same problem: good local grain, sold with nothing on the pack a mother could trust.
I split my week between the test kitchen and the districts I serve, and I handle every consultation and formulation myself — so the person who signs off on the label is the person you spoke to.

Questions
The things people ask me most often before booking — about how consultations work, and about the grain itself.
SAMRATHA operates from Fort Main Road, Shevapet, Salem 636002, Tamil Nadu. Consultations run in person at the Salem practice, and over WhatsApp or video call for clients elsewhere in Tamil Nadu.
Message +91 93636 49558 on WhatsApp with a short note about what you need help with. I reply within one working day and send you the available slots. Consultations run Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 18:00 IST.
Yes. Consultations, diet plans and printed material are available in both Tamil and English, and you can switch between them freely during a session.
We start with what you already cook and what your weekly market stocks, rather than a fixed diet chart. I look at your current meals, any medical reports you bring, and build a plan around local grain, dal and greens that your family will actually eat. Plans are reviewed at follow-ups and adjusted.
Most millets digest more slowly than polished white rice and carry considerably more fibre, which is why they feature in diabetes-friendly meal planning. Kodo millet (varagu) is a common choice. Millets are not a treatment, though — if you are managing diabetes, any dietary change should be made alongside your doctor, especially where medication is involved.
Finger millet (ragi) is by far the richest in calcium at roughly 344 mg per 100 g, which is more than an equivalent serving of milk. Little millet (samai) leads on iron at about 9.3 mg per 100 g, with pearl millet (kambu) close behind at 8.0 mg.
Yes. I arrange proximate analysis through NABL-accredited laboratories and turn the results into an FSSAI-compliant nutrition panel, along with shelf-life studies and substantiation for any claim you want to print on the pack.
Child growth, fussy eating and iron-deficiency anaemia are a regular part of the practice, including programmes run with anganwadis and schools. Anaemia needs a blood test and a doctor's diagnosis behind it — my role is building the everyday meals that support the treatment, not replacing it.
Both. Roughly half the work is one-to-one family consultation; the rest is product formulation, lab testing and labelling for mills, FPOs, mid-day meal kitchens and small food brands across western Tamil Nadu.
